Project 12 – Small Figures
I was procrastinating greatly for a few weeks to get some sort of motivation to do project 12.
Every single time I tried, it went like this: I sat behind my desk, opened my sketchbook, hit the play button, closed the sketchbook and walked away doing something completely different. I am not sure what had happened, but as soon as I saw 20 small figures we had to sketch and then one more sketch of more people, I just could not cope.
I tried to finish this project multiple times but did not progress much. Funny enough, I managed to paint a few gouache paintings during this week and had no problems with projects 13 and 14, so it must have been the subject matter for this week’s projects blocking my creative juices.
One day I might come back to it and finish it off, as I don’t like unfinished projects in my sketchbook, but who knows, maybe this one will be an exception and never completed.

- if the subject matter is not something I like, then even the love for gouache can’t make sketching enjoyable
- don’t like sketching people, figures, portraiture or anything people related
- sometimes it is OK not to finish something and get back to it at some point
