Project 10 – Landscape
Project 10 was a lovely breather. Simple and covering both pages. It was done in one day compared to other projects which I had to spend a couple of days on them. I like landscapes and I find them very relaxing to paint.
This week project was split into two videos:
Main Project – Seaside Landscape
This project required some watercolours and coloured pencils. I struggled with the paper, I must admit. Knowing that the paper is meant to be used with mixed media does not really help. We have done lots of wet in wet and cotton pulp or mixture would be much better for this. I like the colour palette though.
This week summary
- I’ve noticed that each side of paper behaves differently, which gives unpredictability I didn’t like
- we were mixing a variety of greens, which was nice
- adding coloured pencils over watercolours was not something I liked. For some reason, I kept thinking about how expensive coloured pencils are, and they are not even visible
- the whole piece feels to me unfinished
- was glad we had to do only one sketch
